Half of the city daycare centers remained closed on Tuesday, and not a single bus left the depot on Otto-Hahn-Strasse.
Dachau - Verdi again called for a warning strike yesterday, Tuesday, and numerous employees of municipal companies followed the call.
85 percent of the bus drivers in Dachau went on strike
"No more buses are moving out today," announces Mnasri Taoufik, bus driver and spokesman for the bus drivers of Stadtwerke Dachau.
50 bus drivers - "that's 85 percent" - gathered in the early morning hours in front of the gate of the bus depot in Dachau-Ost, put on the yellow Verdi vests and wanted to strengthen Verdi's position in the next round of negotiations.
"Many have also come on their day off or from vacation to strike," said Taoufik.
Verdi's Franz Schütz was enthusiastic about the “enormous willingness to go on strike”.
After the second round of collective bargaining in the public sector ended without result, negotiations will resume on March 30th.
"We demand 10.5 percent and at least 500 euros for twelve months more," says Schütz.

Christian Diecke, sales manager of Stadtwerke, reports that the Stadtwerke were surprised: "It was only known on Monday that a warning strike was being called," but the company immediately informed its customers on Facebook and on the website.
It was also initially unclear whether there would be restrictions on pool operations - but that wasn't the case: the indoor pool was open normally, said Diecke on Tuesday.
Citizens stand in front of closed recycling depots
Meanwhile, the citizens stood in front of closed doors at the recycling depots: The recycling depots Webling, Dachau-Ost, Dachau-Süd, Karlsfeld and Markt Indersdorf were closed, the other depots in the district could also be closed at short notice in the afternoon due to the strike, as announced by the District Attorney's Office.
Erwin Stadler, 81, who was standing in front of a closed door in Dachau, sees the strike as mixed, as he said: "On the one hand I understand the needs of the employees, on the other hand the population has to suffer from it.
However, I can also drop off my garden waste tomorrow.
It would be worse if I was standing at the airport or on the train station and couldn't get any further or couldn't take off."

The strike in day-care centers posed problems for working parents.
Seven of the 13 municipal day-care centers were closed: Kindergarten Am Bach, Kindergarten am Stadtwald, Kindergarten Dachau-Ost, Kindergarten Prinz Adalbert, Insel Hort Süd, Kindergarten Purzelbaum and Kindergarten Villa Kunterbunt.
According to the city, four daycare centers were in normal operation despite individual strikers.
Two daycare centers had to close individual groups because of the strike.
The parents had been informed in advance to contact the facility management directly.
Employees of the Helios Amper Clinic lay down work
Employees at the Helios Amper Clinic, which is also a member of the Bavarian Municipal Employers' Association, also laid down their jobs.
Around 100 nurses, therapists, patient transport service and other employees gathered in front of the entrance to the clinic for a rally and then marched through the old town.
They are also demanding a 10.5 percent wage increase, but also draw attention to the "understaffing, which is now also leading to far-reaching and permanent capacity restrictions for beds," as Verdi announced.
"The employees are constantly working at the limit," says Verdi spokesman Christian Reischl.
According to Reischl, the patients did not have to worry yesterday because of the strike.
"All medically necessary services were ensured."
