The railway promises its passengers new colours, materials and additional functions.
This means that customers can expect not only a new ICE this year, but also a new interior.
The first ICE L carriages in the new design are to be presented as early as this summer.

Under the motto "At home on the move", Deutsche Bahn has developed a new design for the interiors of its trains.
First class passengers can expect a new color of the seats.
In the future, the seat covers will be grey.
The blue seats in the second class change only slightly, according to the railway they should become more matte.
The on-board restaurant is to appear in the dark “Burgundy” red tone.

Both classes are seat covers without pile with 85 percent wool.
The seats should all be provided with a DB label.
In the future, DB customers can expect less real leather and more wood on the walls, tables and on the backs of the seats.
In addition to the well-known fold-out tables at every seat, there will be a tablet holder in the new interior.
A journey with the ICE can take several hours.
It is all the more important that the seats are comfortable.
According to the company, Deutsche Bahn worked together with industrial partners, renowned ergonomics experts and design agencies to achieve this.
The result: innovative seat kinematics.
The backrest and the new head area should be able to be moved backwards in the resting position.
The double seats in the second class are based on a bank and joined together, but the seats can be adjusted individually.

First class guests naturally expect more compliant.
Here, the railway advertises with wider seat, back and head cushions.
The new design will celebrate its premiere in the summer, when the first ICE L carriages with the new interior will be presented.
In December, customers can expect the first train in the new design.
The railway announced that it would offer passengers the 17th ICE 3neo in this design.

Opinions differ on Facebook.
"The seats look kind of uncomfortable," wrote one user under a Deutsche Bahn post.
On March 16, they shared the announcement of the new design with a photo of the first-class seats.
"Then the driving time will at least be more pleasant if it takes longer again," says another user.
"Looks great and I'm excited to experience it," commented one user.
Many also wondered why people don't invest in the punctuality of the trains.
Whether the seats are comfortable or uncomfortable – customers won't find out until summer at the earliest.
