Fürstenfeldbruck

- On Sunday morning, a woman discovered the gelatinous mass with many black dots in a furrow next to the dirt road from Lützowstraße to the bus stop on Von-Gravenreuth-Straße and alerted the Bund Naturschutz (BN) for nature conservation.

"It's great that she recognized it," says Holde Tietze-Härtl from the Fürstenfeldbruck local group.

Two members approached with a bucket, picked up the "giant lump" and took it to a fish-free pond.

Tietze-Härtl estimates that around 10,000 future frogs must have been in it.

A maximum of ten percent survive in the wild, the rest is eaten by birds, fish, dragonfly larvae and ducks.

According to the first analysis, it must have been the spawn of the common frog, the conservationist suspects.

Strictly speaking, it is a criminal offense as these amphibians are protected.

Holde Tietze-Härtl says she can understand why people are afraid of the noise.

But the constant croaking of the frogs is limited to the mating season.

And if you still want to get rid of the spawn, a call to the BN or the State Association for Bird Protection is enough.

"Then he will be fetched and taken somewhere else."
