Hundreds of protesters gathered this morning (Tuesday) at the entrance of the Congress Center in Haifa, where the Haifa Bay Regional Conference will open with the participation of four government ministers - Miri Regev, Eidit Silman, Israel Katz and Nir Barkat.
The demonstrators carry Israeli flags and signs condemning the legal revolution in Hebrew, English and French in honor of the guests at the conference from Morocco and France, chanting slogans, blowing horns, beeping and beating drums.
A large force of the Haifa police is on site and an even larger reinforcement is stationed nearby.
At the same time, Diaspora Minister Amichai Shikli, who was supposed to arrive this morning at the University of Haifa to speak at another conference, announced that he would "participate in Zoom."

The demonstration is being held ahead of another gathering of the Knesset Constitution Committee chaired by MK Simcha Rothman, during which the members of the committee will vote on the new outline for changing the composition of the committee for the selection of judges for the second and third reading, as promoted by the coalition. Opposition leaders Yair Lapid, Benny Gantz, Avigdor Lieberman, Merav Michaeli and
Mansour Last night, Abbas wrote a letter to the Speaker of the Knesset, Amir Ohana, and wrote that "the meeting of the Constitution Committee tomorrow is a disgrace of the Knesset and a disgrace of passing a basic law that will lead to a fundamental change of the system of governance in Israel."
According to them, the chairman of the committee should be "instructed to convene another discussion with the participation of Knesset members and relevant experts and to allow additional time to study and understand the new proposal and to write reservations".
After the appeal to the Speaker of the Knesset, this morning Knesset Legal Adviser Sagit Afik informed the opposition members of the Constitution Committee that there was no flaw in the legislative process of changing the composition of the Committee for the Selection of Judges. "However, following your appeal to the Speaker of the Knesset, after we had a conversation with Constitution Simcha Rothman, he agreed to grant the request to hold another discussion regarding the updated text of the arrangement for the selection of judges."
