Seven people were killed and 15 others injured on Monday in the explosion of a clandestine fireworks factory in the state of Morelos, in central Mexico.

The explosion occurred inside a house where fireworks were made and stored clandestinely
,” Morelos State Civil Protection said in a statement.

According to initial findings, seven people died and 15 others were injured
," said the same source.
Frequent accidents
The accident occurred in the town of Totolapan, about 80 km from the capital Mexico City.
The state governor lamented the accident on social media, saying he "
deeply regrets the loss of life caused by the explosion in Totolapan
".
Accidents are frequent in fireworks manufacturing workshops, which are often clandestine.
In December 2016, several explosions took place in a fireworks market in Tultepec, in the state of Mexico (center), killing 42 people and injuring dozens of others.
