They want explanations.
They should have it.
The prefect and the leaders of the inter-union of Loire-Atlantique will meet this Wednesday, at 11 a.m., in the premises of the prefecture in Nantes, to discuss incidents which occurred last Saturday during a demonstration against the pension reform.
The information was confirmed to Le
Figaro
by a union source as well as by the prefecture.
As explained in a letter written on Monday, addressed to the representative of the State services in the department, and which we were able to consult, the local union leaders are wondering about the incidents which broke out when they were approaching "
the entrance to the Île Gloriette swimming pool,
located in the city center.

The head of Unsa injured
“To our surprise, tear gas was fired at the swimming pool [...] including one shot in the direction of an elderly couple who were not taking part in the demonstration.
Then a summons was issued.
There followed several shots of tear gas directly on the union procession
, “they write.
According to them, this event was the source of
"great confusion"
at the time of withdrawing, which would have created
"a dangerous situation for all the demonstrators, especially the youngest"
.
Result:
“falls”,
according to the inter-union which takes as an example that of the departmental secretary of Unsa, Pascal Priou,
“who was injured”

An “inappropriate” intervention
Faced with this observation, the leaders of the inter-union shell, in their letter, a series of questions that they should be able to ask directly to the prefect this Wednesday.
Among these, they wonder why the CRS used tear gas against
"perfectly identifiable and known union leaders"
.
They also want to know who is behind the order of this intervention which they consider
“inappropriate and dangerous”
.
Finally, they say they want to obtain answers to transmit them to their militants who would see in this intervention
"an attempt of the power [...] to discourage the demonstrations"
.
A letter that ends with a revisited politeness formula in which the union officials send their
“worried greetings”
to the prefect.
