Penzberg – A brazen theft has occurred in Penzberg: As the police write in their press release, between Monday, March 20, 8:20 p.m. and Tuesday, March 21, 5:40 a.m., in front of a supermarket branch on Straße des 28 April 1945 in Penzberg a yellow mailbox was broken into.

According to the police, the perpetrator pried open the metal box with a red tool and stole the mail bag and its contents from it.

Deutsche Post suffered damage of around 1,500 euros as a result.

Post box broken open: Letters and consignments cannot be delivered

Citizens who have put letters or mail in the mailbox in front of the Rewe market are now asked to ask the recipient about the delivery of their mail.

The last time the mailbox was emptied by the post office was around 4:30 p.m. on March 20, police said.

This also points out that the theft means that letters or consignments that were posted at the time of the crime cannot be delivered.

The Penzberg Police Inspectorate will take information on breaking out mailboxes on 08856/9257-0.
