Refinery, nuclear power plant and transport routes blocked: operation "dead city" in Lyon against pension reform

Operation "dead city" this Tuesday morning in Lyon.

After the use of article 49-3 on the pension reform and the rejection of motions of censure, the unions blocked several strategic points of entry into the agglomeration, causing major traffic jams.

Some 150 union activists and yellow vests thus cut off traffic in the early morning on the urban boulevard M6-M7.

Dislodged by the police, they then reached Perrache station, where some descended on the tracks to obstruct rail traffic.

They then tried to return to the urban boulevard but were prevented from doing so by the police.

At the other end of the metropolis, a filter dam has also been set up at the Cusset exit of the Laurent Bonnevay ring road, in Villeurbanne, again causing slowdowns there until 9:30 a.m.

Barely further south, a dozen demonstrators were towing in the Vinatier sector.
