They installed neighborhood alarms in a neglected area of San Miguel: how they work

2023-03-21T15:16:03.084Z

They located them in the blocks of Barrio Obligado, near the border between Bella Vista and Hurlingham. In the entire district there are already about 400.

In

San Miguel,

 they delivered

new neighborhood alarms

in one of the most popular neighborhoods of that district in the Northwest of Greater Buenos Aires.

The Municipality continues with the expansion of its prevention program and, recently, distributed the

devices that aim to prevent crimes

and provide greater peace of mind in the blocks of the neighborhoods in which they are installed.

In recent days and with the presence of Mayor Jaime Méndez,

community alarms were presented in Barrio Obligado

, in the town of Bella Vista (near the border with Hurlingham).

There, in this way they added several blocks to the initiative that allows residents

to connect directly with the Municipal Operations Center

(COM) to request immediate assistance, if necessary.

The mayor, Jaime Méndez, spoke with the neighbors during a delivery of community alarm buttons.

"We made the second installment of neighborhood alarms in Obligado. Thousands of residents in the area and throughout the district are already using this tool. In addition, our security system has cameras, patrol cars, and motorcycles to prevent crime throughout San Miguel" , pointed out the community chief, who during the day and in dialogue with the neighbors elaborated on the program.

As specified by the Commune,

each house

on the block in which the alarm was installed

has a remote control

.

If you want to issue an alert in the event of an emergency, you have to

press a button that will automatically be replicated in the

local COM.

From the headquarters from where the cameras and license plate readers are monitored, they will send the notification in question to

the closest patrol to attend

the place and,

in parallel, the area is monitored

with the different security cameras posted in the region.

How to join

Those who want to join the program of municipal neighborhood alarms must participate in the

participatory budget meetings of the neighborhoods

.

If the block already has a device and they want to connect it to the COM, they should contact Community Relations, an area that works on the ground floor of the Municipality (Sarmiento 1551).

Also, they can contact the telephone number 6091-7000 (extension 6386), through WhatsApp messages to the number 1161965161, or via the web page www.msm.gov.ar/presupuesto-participativo/.

Neighborhood alarms, once activated, issue an alert directly on the COM.

From there, the patrol cars that are closest to the conflict zone are sent.

Currently,

the San Miguel Monitoring Center has access to more than 400 neighborhood alarms

from all neighborhoods in the district, which have been incorporated from 2016 onwards.

Rosa Mística, Cuartel II, Barrufaldi and Santa Brígida

, for example, are some of the neighborhoods that also received the tool in question in a timely manner.

And in addition, the Party has

more than 700 security cameras, 85 license plate readers

more than 150,000 residents adhered to the

'Ojos en Alerta'

security and citizen participation program

(which was replicated in many other districts and provinces of the country) and

more than 50 municipal patrols

that cover the neighborhoods 24 hours a day, among other resources and tools that make up the security area.
