The foreseeable cost burden for the new sewage treatment plant burdens many citizens.

They want clarity, but the community is holding back.

A tension that can be resolved.

A comment from Merkur editor Dieter Dorby.

Even if it has been recognized that the community's public relations work needs improvement, the mayor and community council still find it difficult to look at the cards.

The municipal council has now confirmed that one wants to make decisions in the interests of the citizens.

That's good.

But how is that supposed to work if you don't even know what the citizens want?

Cost hammer immediately or would you rather have a high fee burden in the long term?

The great concern of the citizens is not being heard: At first nothing is fixed for a long time, and then everything is decided very quickly.

Only openness and dialogue can help against this.

Citizens want to know: what financial burden awaits them?

Is this avoidable?

Is the burden distributed fairly?

These questions are not an affront, not distrust.

They are valid concerns.

Also read the report on the comment:

The cost burden is now taking center stage

From this point of view, an information meeting in which planners present and explain the plans to the citizens would probably be quite helpful.

This creates trust and transparency.
