At the annual general meeting of the Schongauer Alpenverein, the focus was not only on reports and new elections but also on a farewell.

At the annual general meeting of the Schongauer Alpenverein, the focus was not only on reports and new elections but also on a farewell.

Schongau – Schongau's Alpine Club boss Robert Zimmermann was able to welcome 47 of the current 1932 members at the annual general meeting in the Schongau fire station.

In his annual report he stated that of the 60 planned activities, 46 could be carried out.

And for the current year 2023 he again presented a wide range of offers.

In this context, Zimmermann thanked Robert Degle and Michael Schilcher, who are giving up their tour guide jobs or at least temporarily suspending them for professional reasons.

At the same time, the DAV boss welcomed Thomas Weißbrodt and Heike Rüther, who will strengthen the tour guide team in the future.

After Corona: Monthly meetings are starting again

The DAV chairman also thanked his colleagues on the board for their cooperation in the past term of office and the helpers in distributing the club brochures.

“Our monthly meetings will start again after the Corona break.

The meeting in February took place in the Opatija inn, which proved to be quite suitable as a location for smaller events, among other things because of the technical equipment,” Zimmermann continues.

After car partner Peugeot had suspended the offer for clubs, a new offer had to be obtained in order to implement the decision to purchase the new club bus from 2020.

"The new bus has already established itself and has been given a garage space," says Zimmermann.

In addition, a new bicycle trailer was purchased, for which the fire brigade provided a covered parking space.

Young people accept climbing activities well

As Treasurer Karin Thoma reported, the largest items in terms of income were the membership fees of 65,000 euros and in terms of expenditure, the payments to the main association of 55,000 euros.

The section has to post a deficit again in 2022 due to the write-off for the club bus.

The liquid funds of 76,500 euros are divided between two checking accounts and a savings account.

Youth officer Florian Hüttinger reports on seven organized tours.

“The climbing activities are still well received by young people.

The joint tour with the family group should also be repeated,” said the youth officer.

Family group leader Andreas Lüttgau announced to the members that a successor to lead a junior family group is still being sought.

He also reports on the tours that have been carried out and shows corresponding pictures.

Path warden Marco Schulz explained that the path that the section is in charge of is 14.5 kilometers long, includes over 1300 meters in altitude and is classified as a "black tour" due to its length of seven to eight hours.

In order to bring the members closer to the path and to get an impression of the workload required for the year, he puts an annual community tour in the tour program.

In the regular new elections, Heike Rüther replaced the previous chairman Robert Zimmermann.

The second chairman Till Penski, secretary Claudia Sieber, treasurer Karin Thoma and the cash auditors Cornelia Zeitler and Peter Ressle were confirmed in their offices.

Florian Hüttinger, who already held the office temporarily in 2022, will be the new youth officer.

Ice ax and historic pair of telemark skis presented

Among the assessors, Richard Biechele, Florian Hüttinger, Florian Lang, Johanna Nuscheler, Marco Schulz and Harald Sieber were confirmed in their offices and Robert Zimmermann was elected as an additional assessor.

At the end of the public part, Robert Zimmermann congratulated his successor on the election and presented her with a pick that could possibly be passed on like a baton in the future.

The new chairman, Heike Rüther, addressed a few words to Zimmermann and presented her predecessor with a functioning historical pair of telemark skis as a gift from the board and committee.
