Hundreds of people came this morning (Wednesday) outside the meeting of the Israel Land Conference in Tel Aviv to protest against the legal revolution.

The protesters are blocking the eastbound traffic on Haim Lebanon Street near the museum.

One of the participants in the gathering was supposed to be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but he canceled his arrival.

This is the third time that Netanyahu has canceled his arrival to the event in the background of protests against the reform: Netanyahu was supposed to participate in the graduation ceremony of a boatman's course, but did not come.

This week he was supposed to speak at the first conference for the rights of people with disabilities of the Equal Opportunities Commission at the Ministry of Justice, but he did not come to this conference either.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin was also scheduled to speak at the conference, but he also canceled.

Levin's office stated that the reason for his non-arrival was due to scheduling considerations. The Prime Minister's Office said regarding the cancellation of his arrival to the conference this week that there is no truth in the fact that the cancellation was due to fear of a protest

. Eretz Yisrael in Tel Aviv: "He is not coming because he is a coward and a rabbit." The protestors waved signs that read, among other things, "Constitution now," "This is not why we fought naked in the turret," and "We will not allow a coup d'état." At the same time, a convoy of cars made its

way to the Knesset area in Jerusalem to demonstrate at the same time as the meeting of the Constitution Committee, which is supposed to vote today on changing the composition of the Committee for the Selection of Judges for the second and third reading. The police blocked Kaplan Street in the Government Kiryat in Jerusalem from both directions prior to the arrival of the convoy and the demonstrators moved to the nearby Israel Museum and took up positions there.

During the night, the Knesset's Constitution Committee convened to vote on more than 5,000 reservations submitted by the opposition to the new version of the bill to change the composition of the Committee for the Selection of Judges.

Early in the morning, the members of the opposition decided as a sign of protest not to continue justifying the reservations they submitted - and left the committee hall.

The chairman of the committee, MK Simcha Rothman, announced that the committee will meet again at 10:00, to finish voting on the reservations.

In the meantime, the Knesset committee is expected to exceptionally approve this morning additional days in which the plenary will work to approve legislation before going into recess.

This coming Sunday, votes will be held in the plenum starting at 16:00 in the afternoon, even though the plenum does not meet on Sundays.

A day later, votes will be held as early as 10:00 am instead of 4:00 pm, and it is possible that the plenary will remain open for votes until next Thursday.

On Sunday, April 2, the last day of the Knesset before going into recess, the plenary session will open at 10:00 am.

The coalition aims to pass by then the change in the composition of the committee for the selection of judges in the second and third reading, as well as other laws such as the hametz law, the fortification law that will be approved tonight by the Knesset and more.
