Gifts, money and trips to Disney: the hook for the 'puppies' in the plot of corruption of minors

2023-03-22T18:58:35.386Z

This Wednesday Francisco Angelotti (46) and Ignacio Mermet (45) refused to testify. Along with former Big Brother Marcelo Corazza (50) and Andrés Charpenet (53), they are accused of abusing children and adolescents for more than 20 years.

"

You don't look so small

," Francisco Rolando Angelotti Notarbartolo (46) told one of the victims who, 20 years later, was encouraged to denounce him.

He contacted him through a chat site when he was just 11 years old, met him at Parque Centenario, in the Caballito neighborhood, and began a path of submission that ended on Monday with his arrest.

It was after Marcelo Corazza (50), the winner of the first edition of Big Brother, sat down on a television panel to discuss the last season of the reality show that the victim dared to denounce.

It is that Corazza, as he maintained, had been one of his abusers.

He reviewed in detail the sexual assault that took place in Plaza Miserere when Angelotti took him in a car and encouraged him to change vehicles to be subdued by the former GH in exchange for money.

Marcelo Corazza refused to testify on Tuesday

The complaint was made at the offices of the Prosecutor for Trafficking and Exploitation of Persons (Protex) and his courage allowed him to dismantle a network of abusers that continued to this day.

Everything revolves around Angelotti Notarbartolo, a missionary merchant from Oberá who interspersed trips to Buenos Aires with

children he brought with tricks and gifts

.

In his mother's house, a farm in General Rodríguez, he housed (and did so until last week) children and adolescents to whom he promised trips, clothes, costumes for the graduation party, work and even housing.

In exchange, he manipulated them to abuse them and to give them to other people

in exchange for money

, according to the accusation that was released to them between Tuesday and Wednesday.

He bragged about his victims in phone conversations, calling them

"

the little guy

," "

gurisito

," and "

Francisco Rolando Angelotti Notarbartolo, detained in Misiones, in the case of corruption of minors.

They point him out as the leader of the gang.

"The first time was in the back of the truck that was parked in the same park," the young man recalled, and also spoke of "fear, uncertainty and the inability to say no."

The abuse lasted for more than three years, "mainly on weekends because I went to school during the week."

Inside the car, parked in some dark corner and in transitory shelters that allowed children accompanied by adults to enter the City of Buenos Aires.

The harassment was so much and the manipulation so perverse that Angelotti

accompanied his victim to drama classes

.

There he met another of the complainants, whom he also abused between 2001 and 2003 when he was between 12 and 15 years old.

"Disgust and desire to vomit," recalled the second victim about the attacks to which he was subjected in exchange for financial remuneration.

It was he who opened the plot to a network of pedophiles with his testimony: on one occasion, Angelotti moved him to a suburban parking lot where he was attacked by a group of men between 50 and 60 years old.

"The only memory he had is of being on his knees and all of them surrounding him," he stated.

He was 13 years old.

In this dynamic of "handing over" children to be corrupted and abused by other adults, Marcelo Corazza and Raúl Ignacio Mermet enter the scene, both

designated as "consumers"

: they abused children in exchange for money delivered by their exploiters. , according to the indictment of Judge Javier Sánchez Sarmiento, who ordered the arrest of the four defendants.

Investigation sources confided to

Clarín

that their eyes are on the electronic devices that were seized in the six raids carried out this Monday, from which they hope to obtain information from other abusers.

They speculate that they will be able to identify

more victims

and make more arrests linked to other abuses.

Also registered sexual abuse material, commonly called child pornography, since the victims remembered a chilling scene: Angelotti gave them a password and an email to access and there they found hundreds of folders with photos and videos.

Corazza's entry into court.

For this reason, Sánchez Sarmiento ordered that they pay special attention to this material with the intention of adding more elements to the investigation and expanding the accusation.

"When the complaint was made, it was not known where this person was (by Angelotti). The complainants had been transferred from Misiones by this person when they were children. But they did not know if he was there or in General Rodríguez. They only knew the last name. When it is detected who he is, where he is and where he operates, it is determined that this type of behavior and maneuvers continue to be carried out," the sources explained to

Clarín

.

It was through a third party, his childhood friend and owner of a lawn mower company, that they located him in Misiones and the wiretapping began.

"More victims were detected in the conversations and the Justice ordered interviews with them that resulted in these people having been subjected in the same way: some

were captured, corrupted and prostituted

like the two complainants. Then it was possible to establish that they are still in the denounced dynamic with new victims", they anticipated.

The investigation was in the hands of prosecutor Patricio Lugones and the Trafficking in Persons Division of the Buenos Aires City Police, from where they indicated that inspections of electronic devices have not yet begun.

That is why the intervention of the National Program for the Rescue and Accompaniment of Victims Affected by the Crime of Human Trafficking was ordered, which interviewed adolescents who, according to the wiretaps, would currently be involved with Mermet, Charpenet and Angelotti.

The four defendants refused to testify: Corazza barely denied the facts, said he was

"innocent"

and did not want to answer questions, this Tuesday.

Same as Charpenet.

And this Wednesday they adopted the same decision Angelotti Notarbartolo -indicated as the leader of the band- and Mermet.

From the wiretaps carried out between October 2022 and March 2023, it appears that Angelotti is currently subjecting a 16-year-old teenager for more than a year, who contacted him on Facebook.

She refers to him as "

baby

" and boasts of his maneuvers to "loose it up".

Charpenet is another one of the most complicated by wiretapping and text messages.

They speak of the victims as interchangeable figures that Angelotti offers him.

In one of the cases he refers that he does not "have it so qualified as to deliver it to him" but to another and "offers that, if they travel to Buenos Aires, he will take it on for that."

"

It depends on what comes out, what I paint, so well, come on, che

," Charpenet replies, who also maintains the same type of "ties" of abuse with other children.

He refers to one of them as "

the officer

" and to a

"little boy

" who "

does not pay attention

" and of whom he says

"to be bored with both of them

".

In all cases, those from 20 years ago and the current ones, the victims were boys from Misiones, the same province where Angelotti lived.

There he has a pizzeria and used to have a bowling alley that was closed twice for not being authorized and for having children from 12 to 17 years old without that being allowed.

According to the investigation, Angelotti used his mother's house, in General Rodríguez, to host the boys he brought to the city in exchange for gifts and money.

He even offered them trips to Disney to talk them into submission

.

One of the complainants recounted a scene in which his abuser managed to convince his parents to stay the night at his house.

On another occasion, he came looking for him "accompanied by a boy no more than

9 years old

with a missionary accent" and took the two children to a "transitional shelter" where he carried out a new abuse.

Angelotti had already been charged in 2005 by the missionary Justice for sexual abuse with carnal access and corruption of minors.

In 2008 he appealed to the Chamber of Cassation and would have ended up dismissed in 2009 by the Superior Court of Justice of Misiones.
