You wanted to fly to Mallorca at short notice over Easter?
That could be difficult.
Apparently all the hotels on the island are already fully booked.
This year, Mallorca is once again one of the favorite holiday destinations for Germans, it seems.
The capacities of many accommodations are already exhausted for the coming holiday season, as
reported by the online portal
Mallorca Magazin,
citing the local newspaper
Ultima Hora .
Especially from April 6th to 9th, i.e. the Easter weekend, no more reservations are possible.
So if you wanted to spontaneously plan a vacation on Mallorca, you might lose out.
Mallorca rush at Easter: Hotels are almost completely booked
The current booking situation even exceeds the demand from 2019, the year before Corona.
Hotel chains are estimating that their beds could be 70 to 80 percent occupant, with some even forecasting 90 percent occupancy.
"We are almost fully booked for Easter," says Fernando Marín, President of the Association of Hoteliers Mallorca, according to the online portal
Mallorca Zeitung
.
In addition, "around 20 percent more air travelers are expected for Easter," as a spokesman for Son Joan Sant Airport in Palma reports.

But the rush is expected to get even bigger after the Easter holidays: "From May 8, our hotels will be almost 100 percent occupied," says Fernando Marín.
In his opinion, the booking situation could last until September – but this also has disadvantages.
In the past, such high demand often led to overbooking, i.e. when the number of bookings exceeded the actual capacities.
That, in turn, could lead to increased complaints and dissatisfaction, Marín notes.
Mallorca vacation: Great demand from Germany
According to Mallorca Magazin,
the greatest demand for Mallorca holidays comes
from Germany: “The growth in German tourism has increased since February and will continue into the summer season,” according to
Mallorca Magazin
from tour operators.
But tourists from Great Britain are also increasingly flocking to the Balearic Island and are almost back to the level of the pre-Corona period.

The areas of Platja de Muro, Cala Millor and Platja de Palma are particularly popular with holidaymakers.
So much so that even Mallorcan families who traditionally want to spend their Easter holidays there have trouble finding accommodation.
According to the report, one reason for the high demand from German tourists for a holiday in Mallorca is the earthquake in Turkey - travelers who would normally have gone to Turkey are now avoiding the country as a precaution.
