Refusal to comply in Cannes: a driver arrested after finishing his race in a bus shelter

A 27-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), after refusing to submit to a roadside check, a police source told Le Figaro, confirming information from

Positioned at a roundabout on the road that links Le Cannet to La Croisette, the municipal police saw the individual accelerate to flee after refusing to comply.

The officers then jumped over their motorcycles to pursue the driver.

Launched at very high speed, the latter has multiplied violations of the Highway Code.

, the individual took all the risks.

"There could have been a tragedy, he did anything and could have mowed down several people

On his way, the driver hit several poles.

Then, in a home stretch, he ended up losing control of his Renaud Clio and crashed into a bus shelter, breaking its windows.

But the driver escaped unscathed from the collision and then tried to flee on foot towards the popular and reputedly sensitive district of La Frayère.

Riot calls

The municipal police officers of Cannet, supported by those of Cannes then of the BAC and CRS, again pursued him for a hundred meters before managing to arrest him.
