Smoke rises from an attack attributed to Israel in Hamat, Syria (Telegram)
The Israeli Air Force attacked several targets throughout Syria tonight (Wednesday), including in the capital region of Damascus, the international airport in Aleppo and the city of Latakia.
This was reported in Syrian and Arab media.
The last attack in Syria attributed to Israel was last week, when several targets were attacked in the Masyaf area in the Hamat district and in the Tartus district in the west of the country.
The attacks, which were unusually early in the morning, were carried out from Lebanon's airspace and the air defense systems intercepted several missiles.
The last time the air force attacked the international airport in Aleppo, a little over two weeks ago - the airport was shut down.
In general, the airports in Damascus and Aleppo, through which Iran transfers weapons to the Assad regime and Hezbollah, have been shut down several times in recent months.
