The wives of European rabbis in Vienna: yes to the tradition of Israel under the leadership of the communities - voila! Judaism

In the shadow of statements contrary to Halacha and tradition by the leadership of the communities, about 50 women rabbis, from all over Europe, held a unique conference to learn the tools appropriate for their role and to assist the rabbis

In the shadow of statements contrary to Halacha and tradition by the leadership of the communities, about fifty wives of rabbis from all over Europe arrived in Vienna, including wives of rabbis;

From Monaco and Latvia, Great Britain, Toulouse and Monterrey in France, Berlin Dortmund and Munich in Germany, Minsk in Belarus, Belgium, Gibraltar, Barcelona and Alicante in Spain, Kiev in Ukraine, Estonia, Switzerland, Stockholm in Sweden and parts of Austria.

In order to stand for the continuation of the Israeli tradition in the leadership of the communities, to emphasize the role of the rabbi's wife as standing today in the leadership of the community for training and receiving training and organizational professional tools to fulfill their important role.

The three days of the seminar were held at the initiative of the 'European Rabbinical Conference' in cooperation with the 'Netzach' organization at the community center of Vienna hosted by the local community headed by Mr. Oskar Deutsch.



The president of the Gaon Conference, Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, said in the opening that "The wives of the rabbis across the continent, especially in the communities where there is a lot of importance for relatives and far away, the rabbis are meant for many roles as they are involved in guiding the families and teaching various topics to the women of the community in terms of 'Singing brings the women closer.' Thanks to these study days the rabbis Returning to the communities with renewed strength to continue their noble role as rabbis. During these days, they meet rabbis from all over Europe - even from distant and sometimes difficult places - and they are a source of tremendous inspiration. It is amazing to see the immense dedication of the soul with which the rabbis fulfill their important role alongside their husbands who lead the communities." .

Words of encouragement were heard by the Rabbi of Vienna, a member of the Standing Committee of the Conference, Rabbi Yaron Engelmeyer.


During the seminar, Rabbi Goldschmidt met with Austria's Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Family, Integration and Communication; Michael Linhart and Dr. Susan Raab, and Speaker of the Parliament Wolfgang Sobotka regarding freedom of religion and expressing appreciation for their activities on behalf of the Jewish community. Last night, at the end of the conference, Rabbi Goldschmidt spoke in An 'Exemplary Passover Seder' held by Israel's Ambassador to Austria Mordechai Rodgold with the participation of dozens of Ahmiim from the diplomatic staff and public figures.

One of the outstanding events of the symposium was the lecture by Rabbi Yemima Mizrahi in the Great Synagogue of Vienna.

Hundreds of women from Austria and the participants heard words of encouragement from the rabbi who serves as president of the rabbinical program of the conference and has been engaged for many years in guiding the community to establish faithful houses in Israel in happiness and comfort.



During the seminars, the participants heard professional and organizational Torah lectures on various topics and ways to transform their role as a lever for increasing Torah life and mitzvot in the communities.

Among the lecturers;

Mr. Gadi Gronich, Chief of Staff of the President and CEO of the Conference's International Fund. Secretary of the Conference, Rabbi Aharon Shmuel Baskin. Rabbi Ilana Epstein of London, Ms. Joel Apalo, Vice-Chair of the Conference's Board of Trustees, Rabbi Giti Spitz, Head of the Conference's Mentoring Program and Mt. Rabbi Noam Lewis.

The participants received professional guidance on how to develop listening and communication skills, what is the nature of the psychology of change, and a number of counseling methods were demonstrated for different and diverse cases that rabbis may encounter during their work.

The participants also heard from experts in the field of developing ICT systems;

How to develop networking, take advantage of opportunities at community events and advice on giving lectures to the women of the community, with the help of a unique presentation.

The participants had an open discussion about how the different national cultures in which they live affect social interactions.

Very essential ideas and advice on various topics related to peace-home, 'family challenges' and 'using the circles of life as an opportunity to connect'.

During the seminar days, the rabbis were divided into classes and workshops, which were presented through interaction and sharing.

During the days, the participants held a fascinating tour of Vienna under the guidance of Rivka Junger, a local resident, with a focus on the Jewish history of Vienna over the years.
