A Munich climate activist claims to have to pay a fine for illegal possession of superglue.

The police clear up.

Munich – On Monday, March 20th, a photographer from Munich published a video on the Vimeo platform.

It shows a climate activist claiming to have to pay a 1,000 euro fine in front of the camera.

The Munich police caught him with superglue in his pocket.

The case is said to have happened on Tuesday, March 14, during the last-generation road blockade on the Mittlerer Ring in Munich-Sendling.

The title of the video is "Last Generation.

Wolli".

"I had superglue in my pocket today," says the man in the video.

"I didn't use it.

I just transported him.

However, I have a superglue transport ban for Munich.

That means I have to pay a fine of 1,000 euros for a superglue that I didn't use and only had in my pocket.” Police officers can be seen in the background, who are probably just taking up the case.

After a change of perspective, the climate activist threatens to protest: “I would like to publicly protest against the fact that I have a ban on transporting superglue.

I will also break this publicly.

I will be transporting superglue to Marienplatz and publicly inviting the press to do so.

Thanks."

The #superglue transport ban sparks a huge debate on Twitter

A climate activist tweeted a post with the video a day later, on March 21, sparking a huge debate under the hashtag #supergluetransportban.

"The mere transport of superglue can be fined 1000 euros," he writes on the news portal.

Wow.

In Munich there is a 1 "#superglue transport ban" (most German word *ever*!) - accordingly, the mere transport of #superglue can be fined with a fine of €1000!#LetzteGeneration pic.twitter.com/DhjTwP2d0x

The majority of Twitter users doubt the truthfulness of the video from Munich

The Twitter user then speculated about the truth of the message.

A user asks: “That applies to him, not to the whole of Munich, right?” Another goes directly to the police: “Does the #superglue ban apply to the whole city?

How do you enforce that?

Will every supermarket that sells superglue be razed?

Do your colleagues collect the money directly, or is it then transferred to BMW via the city account?”

A fellow reader is skeptical and comments: "This is probably disinformation.

There is no general 'superglue transport ban', that would have to be published.” There are concrete police measures against individuals who have previously behaved illegally.

Some express their anger: "Can something really be watertight in Germany?"

Others see the tweet with humor and compare it to other fines.

Like, for example, compared to exceeding the speed limit.

“By the way, racing through the city at 120 km/h costs 300 euros less.

Sure,” wrote one Twitter user.

In Munich, people of the last generation are now being banned from transporting superglue and have to pay a fine of 1,000 euros if they violate this rule.

For glue in the pocket.

By the way, racing through the city at 120 km/h costs 300 euros less.

Sure, of course.

Munich police explained: Individual activists are banned from carrying, transporting and using adhesives

In fact, the video on Twitter is not fake.

On request, the Munich police informed our editorial team that the man in the video is an activist against whom there is a ban on carrying, transporting and using adhesives.

"In individual cases, the district administration department can issue orders on the basis of the state criminal law and ordinance law in order to prevent criminal offenses and ward off dangers," says Jakob Siebentritt, police chief inspector.

"In total, the district administration department issued orders against seven people prohibiting them from carrying, transporting and using superglues and comparable adhesives in the city of Munich." Violations will result in a fine of 1,000 euros.

The notices are limited and subject to exceptions.

In the past, the people affected have appeared repeatedly in the climate pasting campaigns.

In order to prevent criminal offenses and dangers, the district administration department issued this ban for individual activists.

"The order does not restrict the freedom of expression and assembly of those affected," assures Siebentritt.

The chief of police also emphasizes that the orders are not punitive measures, but preventive measures to ward off future crimes and dangers caused by sticking to streets or objects.
