New building areas, new shopping center, new school concept: the citizens' meeting in Bockhorn was characterized by the development power of the municipality.

New building areas, new shopping center, new school concept: the citizens' meeting in Bockhorn was characterized by the development power of the municipality.

Riedersheim - When communities are doing well, many projects have been successfully completed and the finances are in good shape, interest in annual balance sheets does not seem to be as great as in times of crisis.

In any case, the hall at Wirt z' Riedersheim was not completely full when Mayor Lorenz Angermaier invited to the citizens' meeting on Tuesday evening.

There was definitely something interesting to report.

After all, the expansion of the building yard, the renovation of the fire station in Bockhorn and the completion of the new kindergarten in Grünbach could be celebrated last year.

Another crèche group was also created in the Bockhorn children's home, and the first construction work is already underway on two of the three plots in the extended Unterstrogn commercial area.

In the newly designated Kirchasch-Mitte construction area, the first excavators should start rolling by early 2024 at the latest.

Tendering and land allocation for building contractors are planned for this year.

20 municipal plots and 30 privately owned plots are planned.

"Right from the start, we planned to use local heating on the basis of wood chips," explained Angermaier.

The heating plant is to be built between the cemetery and the nearby sports grounds.

"The contracts with the company ESB Wärme have already been signed."

There will also be more building land in Grünbach: a mixed-use commercial area on the B 388, on which the new fire station will also be located, and in the Grünbach-Südwest area next to the tennis courts in the direction of Hecken.

"Here, locals in particular should be given the opportunity to build land," said Angermaier.

So that the citizens can also find a functioning local supply, the municipality only recently presented the planning of a shopping center in Bockhorn (we reported).

In addition, an area with an estimated 30 new residential units is also to be built here.

The school also has the community in mind.

When the legal entitlement to all-day care takes effect in 2026, you want to be prepared.

A spatial function program is already underway, and the municipality and a specialist office are working on learning landscapes, a new pedagogical and spatial concept.

It should be available for the children in mid-2027.

The flood protection concept and the broadband expansion will require more time for the final implementation.

However, two masts are planned for this year in Mauggen and Kirchasch for better mobile phone coverage.

As far as the environment and precautions are concerned, Angermaier was able to reassure the citizens.

On the one hand, the municipal sewage treatment plant still has a water right until 2038, ongoing technical improvements such as phosphate precipitation or a modernized control system ensure modern disposal.

“However, the recycling of sewage sludge is becoming more and more complex because it can no longer be spread out.

And we need a relatively large amount of money to be able to maintain our large sewer system," said Angermaier.

In addition, Bockhorn is a member of the district's climate protection network and thus benefits from advice and funding.

Work is also being done on a location concept for open-space photovoltaics.

Two private systems are probably already under discussion.

But the mayor could not say anything new about the Walpertskirchen clip or northern bypass: "There are hardly any movements in this regard.

There is also no feedback on various objections from the municipality and individual citizens.”

At the meeting, a written application was submitted by the Maierklopfen citizens' initiative for the pigsty planned there (we reported).

Angermaier therefore once again explained the course of the procedure and the situation that has not yet been resolved.

On April 13th, there will be another on-site meeting with the petitions committee of the state parliament.

In addition, a visitor asked whether the previous bakery shop in Bockhorn would be closed with a new local supply.

The mayor could not give a final answer to this.

Certificates were given to Franz Herbst and Gerhard Lemmermeier for 40 years with the Bockhorn fire brigade, and to Marcell Garcia and Thomas Huber for 25 years.

Stefan Schuster has served 25 years with the Eschlbach fire brigade.

Finally, Franz Döllel was awarded: he was available to the community from 2010 to 2022 as a field jury member.
