Joe Biden will receive Alberto Fernández at the White House next week

2023-03-23T13:53:04.188Z

It would be Wednesday March 29, according to official sources. There were two postponements last year.

Alberto Fernández is preparing for his first bilateral with Joe Biden next week.

The President of the United States gave him signs that he will receive him at the White House, although the Government does not want to confirm it.

They expect the White House to do it.

The interview

would take place next Wednesday

in Washington, according to what this newspaper learned from qualified sources.

They closed it, on the one hand, Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero with his partner, the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and on the other hand, Ambassador to the United States Jorge Argüello.

For that matter, we must refer to Blinken's tweet of March 2, in which he wrote "Good conversation with the Argentine foreign minister @SantiagoCafiero at the G20 this afternoon. We talked about the importance of protecting democracy, human rights, security food and our shared commitment to a secure and prosperous hemisphere.

It was in the framework of a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Group of 20 with the Secretary of State in New Delhi,

Bilateral work is done on these issues.

In the Government

they do not want to go through bad drinks like when Biden twice suspended the bilateral

.

One was dated July 25, 2022, the other for July 26, and on that occasion the president tested positive for COVID.

What followed afterwards was an incessant work by Cafiero and on the other hand by Argüello to overcome it.

For Alberto F. said bilateral is seen as a strong endorsement.

The president has shown himself to be an ally of Washington at all times, even in their very different positions on how to approach the relationship with the dictatorships in the region.

This week the harsh report from the State Department that criticizes the state of Justice and the treatment of the issue of the fight against corruption in the country was felt strongly.

Instead of looking for a front of conflict with the United States and criticizing it, the Government - and also consulted US sources - said that it was an "annual report similar" to that of other years.
