Such a sentence would be “
commensurate with the pain caused
” to the family of the deceased victim, and necessary in the face of “
these acts of revenge
” that “
society cannot tolerate
”, estimated the Advocate General, Rémi Crosson of the Cormier, during his indictment.

Justice is here in this room, it's not in the street
," added the representative of the prosecution.
According to him, if the CCTV images do not formally identify the accused, Kamel Zelloufi, as the author of the shots, there are enough elements to condemn him, in particular from telephone interceptions.

On the evening of September 22, 2017, around 11:45 p.m., around twenty young people from the Riquet district had been shot at by a rival gang from the Cambrai district.
Three had been affected, one of whom, who had just turned 18, had died overnight in hospital.
Kamel Zelloufi has been on trial since Monday for intentional homicide, attempted intentional homicide and criminal association.
He faces life imprisonment.
His lawyers pleaded acquittal, believing that he had "not
been entitled to a fair investigation, incriminating and exculpating
".
During the trial, he denied any involvement in neighborhood rivalries and said he was at home the night of the incident.
Like many trials of clashes between gangs or settling of scores, the hearing was marked by witnesses who were absent, not very talkative, or who went back on their statements.
