It looks like a dialogue of the deaf.

On this ninth day of protest against the pension reform, the Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt, is trying to maintain the link with the union representatives.

Invited this Thursday on RTL, the member of the government on the front line on the pension reform assured to have “

informal contacts

” with the latter.

According to him, these exchanges make it possible to remain “

discreet

”, and thus to “

better understand the positions of each other

”.

Opposite, however, the tone is different.

Invited at the same time on BFMTV / RMC, Laurent Berger has certainly recognized some informal exchanges.

But the boss of the CFDT - targeted the day before by Emmanuel Macron for not having proposed a "

compromise

" to the executive - stressed that no meeting had taken place with the government for months.

"

He said to me, 'we will have to see each other at some point,' and I said to him, 'yes, but on what'"

, explained the trade unionist.

"

I have not seen either the Minister of Labour, nor the President of the Republic, nor the Prime Minister since the start of the pension dispute at the beginning of January

", he detailed.

If Olivier Dussopt for his part recognized that the disagreement on the postponement of the legal retirement age was going to “

persist

”, he also considered that “

many subjects

” would make it possible to “

restart a dialogue

”.

An approach that Laurent Berger does not seem to share for the moment, specifying that “

for the moment, it will not be possible in the midst of the pension conflict

”.

The union representative even calls for a “

decency period

” before a possible meeting.

And insists: “

I will not rush next week to discuss with Mr. Dussopt whom I have not seen since the beginning of January.
