The Military Court of Appeals today (Thursday) increased by three years the sentence of Navy officer Friel Kalimi, who was convicted of rape, and sentenced him to ten years in prison.
Last year the military court of the navy sentenced Kalimi to only seven years in prison.

The military prosecutor's office appealed the sentence and demanded 13 years in prison.
"He murdered her soul," argued the prosecutor who filed the appeal, Major Assaf Melamed. Kalimi's defense attorneys, lawyers Tami Ullman, Yaakov Shlomowitz and Shaf Ullman, appealed both his conviction and the severity of the punishment. "This is an unfortunate event in which everyone loses
, But the victim was hurt more than anything," said attorney Tomer Ben Hamo, who represents the woman on behalf of legal aid, to Walla.
"The court rightly made the punishment of the perpetrator who harmed the body and soul of the elderly victim worse."
