In the debate about a possible and controversial one-way street rule at the Moosburger Mühlbachbogen, the city councilors have now made a decision.

Moosburg

– If you drive towards the Mühlbachbogen in the Bonau district of Moosburg, the ring road will fork.

And just as with the journey, there are currently two options in the citizenship: residents have repeatedly called for a one-way street regulation and have now also applied for it, while other statements wanted to prevent exactly that.

The city council's building and planning committee made a decision on Monday.

"The idea did not grow out of the wisdom of the administration, but out of suggestions from the residents," explained Mayor Josef Dollinger at the beginning.

He reported on expressions of opinion in favor of keeping the current ring road as well as the one-way regulation.

He himself spoke out against the one-way street because it generates more traffic: "If you live at the very beginning of the Mühlbachbogen, you have to drive the whole round and bother everyone." After all, the street is around one kilometer long.

Gerhard Beubl (SPD) also saw no reason for changes, "because the one-way street will then also be driven faster".

The cyclist thing

The examination of the facts also revealed that the cyclist would only be allowed to ride in one direction.

Because when you look at the street, which is usually full of parked cars, there is not enough space to indicate a cycle path in the opposite direction of travel.

That was also a key argument for the representatives from the city council not to change anything seriously.

The police, fire brigade and garbage disposal could have imagined the one-way street under certain conditions.

In the discussion about the traffic regulation at the Mühlbachbogen, one ended up again with a favorite topic of several city councillors: the garages used for purposes other than those for which they were intended.

During a tour of the Bonau residential area, you can see a number of garages that are used as storage or workshops.

As a result, their owners' cars are parked on the street - but the city cannot do anything about this due to a lack of control rights.

Complaints about reckless parking

At the Mühlbachbogen there are always complaints about reckless parking in the public space, including some driveways.

Due to the bottlenecks, garden fences are also regularly damaged in the curve areas.

The building committee took up these reports from the city council and commissioned the administration to examine some of the parking and stopping bans on the Mühlbachbogen.
