The "Sallis Kitchen" restaurant in Unterföhring is closed again after only a year and a half.
The community is now looking for a successor.
Unterföhring – Short interlude in the community center: Engin Sali (41) only opened his restaurant “Sallis Kitchen” in Unterföhring a year and a half ago.
Now he's closed it again.
"It just didn't work anymore," says the 41-year-old, audibly dejected.
The effects of the corona pandemic, the associated shortage of staff and finally the energy crisis had taken a toll on him financially over the past year.
“Fewer people are simply going out to eat because many are currently having to save,” says Sali.
Since the business was no longer economically viable for him, he applied to the municipality for the termination of the lease agreement.
The council recently followed suit.

Closing his restaurant was an extremely difficult decision for Engin Sali, he emphasizes.
Nevertheless, he is grateful for the loyalty and, above all, for the support of some guests.
"We have so many wonderful memories of the great evenings," the host wrote on his Facebook page.
In the future, the restaurateur would like to focus on his second mainstay, catering.
"Both together just didn't work anymore," he says.
"And catering is a great passion for me." Despite the change of course, the 41-year-old will continue to be supported by his employees.
“We are a tight-knit team.
I'm proud that my employees have my back in every decision," says Sali.
Apply by April 5th
He can still use the kitchen of his restaurant until the end of March and will be catering for the events in the community center until the end of March.
He wants to sell his inventory - chairs, tables and even the kitchen appliances.
The municipality is currently looking for a new tenant for the restaurant in the town centre.
"We are interested in a long-term occupation," emphasizes a spokeswoman for the community.
Interested parties can apply to the municipality by April 5th with a gastro concept.
