On January 23, 2022, Charles Dubouloz climbed the vault of the mountain.
He climbed the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, renowned for its extreme difficulty in the Alps.
And unheard of, he climbed it alone, for six days and five nights, in the middle of winter, clinging to rock and ice, in the cold shadow of a 1200 meter wall.
The press hails the ascent as an achievement.
But, at the precise moment of the conquest, victorious in a fierce battle, he is overwhelmed by another feeling.
