The city of Bad Tölz has bought an important area at the Wolfratshausen district court.
With the 31st bid, the mayor was awarded the Maxlweiher pond and all the surrounding meadows.

– Session room 1 of the Wolfratshausen District Court was occupied almost to the last seat with around 35 people when the magistrate proceeded to the foreclosure of the prominently located meadows between Sachsenkamerstrasse and the bypass road.
After the death of a co-owner, his insolvency administrator applied for the auction.
The six plots, including the Maxlweiher itself with an area of almost two hectares, were offered together.

The most interesting part of the property, including the development area, has around 49,300 square meters of building land.
"There was a lot of imagination in there," said one listener, pointing to the well-heeled audience, who were looking around the hall with interest and mentally assessing the chances of a good deal.
Only a handful of bidders had previously provided proof of the security deposit (10 percent of the market value, i.e. 1.1 million euros) in court.
Some of those present probably expected a second auction date – and even better conditions.
In the end, it was a Munich entrepreneur and the mayor of Tölz, Ingo Mehner, who got into the ring shortly before the end of the regular half-hour bidding time.
5.5 million euros was called as the minimum bid on this first auction date.

The case had not been discussed in detail in the city council beforehand.
Nevertheless, according to the lawyer, it was a pretty exciting situation.
He had previously visited another auction in Munich so as not to make any mistakes.
8.7 million would not have been the last bid
Mehner was accompanied by the second mayor, Michael Lindmair.
Lindmair observed what was happening in the room and kept in touch with Mehner.
The mayor concentrated on the bidding war with the Munich entrepreneur, who made a pretty good impression at auctions and repeatedly calmly countered Mehner's brief number instructions.
One moved up in hundreds of thousands of steps.
The man from Munich waited more than once for the second call from the magistrate before he raised shortly before.

At the 31st bid, i.e. at 8.7 million euros, the Munich player gave up.
Before the session in the queue in front of the court, he had asked self-confidently into a mobile phone: "So what are you doing with the Oktoberfest?" He doesn't do anything with the meadow.
With the award and decision by the magistrate at 10:59 a.m., the Maxlweiher grounds immediately became the property of the city of Bad Tölz.
You even save the notary costs.
Did the mayor have a limit?
He thinks he did, but doesn't say so.
Only so much: 8.7 million euros "would not have been my last bid".
And how is the city financing the purchase?
In the 2023 budget, more than 18 million euros in reserves are planned at the end of the year.
"We still have projects to do," Mehner replies, referring in his reply to the Moralt development and Kurhaus expansion.
There will definitely be a supplementary budget.
It will then be a question of how many reserves you can fall back on and how much the city will take out a loan.
Maxlweiher leased until 2030
And what do you do with the new property?
"We have secured a good storage area in the middle of the city," says Mehner.
The area is designated as a residential area in the land use plan of 1969.
Likewise in the "Integrated Urban Development Concept".
However, the areas are in the outdoor area, so that there is currently no building permission.
Mehner: "We also have to think about the coming generations." The pond, which is leased until 2030, is also interesting, adds the mayor of Tölz.
"It is of great importance for water management."
