Camilla, a blind girl who lives in Bologna, will have to leave the apartment where she lives next September because the landlady will not renew her lease, given that her new guide dog will also be with her.
The 31-year-old girl, originally from Latina, a graduate of Dams and a communications operator, told her story on the pages of the QN.
"I considered myself lucky - she explained to the newspaper - because I was renting a single room, in the center with all the comforts, 550 euros including bills. The prices for houses today are crazy, so I hoped to continue where I was. But nothing, I was told that the mistress does not want for the dog".
The 31-year-old says she feels "discriminated against and even a little betrayed by Bologna", then underlining that other homeowners have told her that they do not rent to those who have dogs.
Camilla hasn't tried to hide the new 'tenant'.
"I'm in a shared apartment, how can I not say it? But a dog is not a toy, I need it for a living, I take the exam with the Triveneta School of guide dogs in April".
She is now thinking of leaving the city.
"Maybe I'll move to Padua, where I'd like to try a career as a social worker, to work with NGOs".
