Each year, the Spring of the Book of Montaigu welcomes over three days more than 200 authors and brings together more than 35,000 visitors.
It is the largest literary fair in the Great West (Pays de la Loire, Brittany, Normandy, Poitou-Charentes).
Literature, thrillers, historical stories, documents, children's novels, comics: all genres are represented during meetings and events intended for the greatest number.
The 2023 edition, the 33rd, will be chaired by Étienne de Montety, director of Le
Figaro littéraire

Who, like most of the authors present, will sign his new novel,
La Douceur (Stock)

will discuss it with the public and will organize a meeting on the theme: "Literature and history" with Marie de Lattre, Michel Bernard and Marin de Viry.
Many other events are planned.
At the opening of the Printemps des livres, on March 24, the musician Oxmo Puccino will offer a musical reading of his book
D'après Marcel
(Lattès), a tribute to the author of
À la Recherche du temps perdu
on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his disappearance.
On March 25, Olivier Adam will read his latest novel,
Dessous les roses
(Flammarion) accompanied by his musician brother, Julien.
On March 26, it will be Véronique Ovaldé's turn to read her novel
Girl angry on a stone bench
(Flammarion).

A tribute to Claude Michelet, the author of

, who died in 2022, will be organized by Yves Viollier, Gilbert Bordes, Agnès Brot and Jean-Guy Soumy.
Finally, the West prize

endowed with 5000 euros, will be awarded to a novel whose action takes place in the Great West or to a novel written by an author from the Pays de la Loire, Brittany, Normandy and Poitou-Charentes regions.
Among the winners of the prize, Sorj Chalandon, Michel Le Bris, Clara Dupont-Monod, Jeanne Benameur, Victor Jestin.
