Murder is also being investigated in the death of 70-year-old Lorenzo Puccillo, a social doctor from Picerno (Lega Pro, Group C), found dead last Wednesday in his own land in Pescopagano, in the province of Potenza).
At first it was believed that his death had occurred from the consequences of the attack of a bovine.
Today, however, wounds compatible with gunshots, in particular from a rifle, would have been discovered during the autopsy.
Puccillo's body was seen on Wednesday morning by a farmer in the area who warned the carabinieri.
Initially, the body was transported to the Pescopagano hospital, in the province of Potenza. According to the first investigations, Puccillo had been hit by one of the cattle raised on his farm.
Subsequently the body was transferred to Potenza in view of the autopsy, ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office, to definitively shed light on the causes of the doctor's death.
The autopsy examination took place today.
According to what has been learned, the anatomopathologist would have detected gunshot wounds in several places on the chest.
These were allegedly gunshot wounds.
This detail has given a completely different direction to the investigations of the carabinieri, who are now reviewing all the elements collected since the discovery of the body.
It is not excluded that already in the next few hours the investigators will be able to question some people to reconstruct the last hours of Puccillo's life in order to also clarify the motive for the fact.
