(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 24 - The costs of school trips have increased significantly and students, who have already had to give them up in past years due to Covid, are now finding themselves in difficulty because many families, especially if numerous, cannot guarantee all their children to participate.

"It is true that the cost of trips has risen a lot mainly because of the war in Ukraine - the president of the Roman Association of PNA principals, Mario Rusconi comments with ANSA - four days in Budapest for Pius IX in Rome will cost families 800 euros per student , a figure with which we used to go to New York Schools can intervene to allow some figures available for less well-off students but Parliament cannot intervene on a question like this: for example, Parliament must be engaged for more serious issues, such as the tutor for students or the contractual increase of teachers".

But above all for Rusconi visits and trips are increasingly rare as teachers find it difficult to take charge practically 24 hours a day of the children and do not want to assume this big responsibility.

The Verdi-Left MP Elisabetta Piccolotti intervened on the subject and presented a parliamentary question and is preparing a bill on the subject.

"Helping everyone becomes impossible - he observes - without an intervention by the ministry to support families that guarantees everyone the right to study, even through participation in an educational trip: at the moment, one in two parents would be unable to face the cost of an educational trip, whose costs have increased by an average of 20%".
