A Bavarian beer queen should have her roots in the Free State, love tradition and beer, be cosmopolitan, articulate and multilingual. All of this applies to Anna Eberle (26) from Peiting.

A Bavarian beer queen should have her roots in the Free State, love tradition and beer, be cosmopolitan, articulate and multilingual.

All of this applies to Anna Eberle (26) from Peiting.

Peiting/Peißenberg – 70 young women from the Free State of Bavaria responded to the call from the Brewers' Association and stood for the election of Bavaria's new beer queen.

In an internal pre-selection, a jury selected 24 applicants and invited them to the final casting in Munich.

There, Anna Eberle, born in Peißenberg, grew up in Peiting and now lives in Landsberg, brilliantly made it into the "Top 6".

The first to wish well was the reigning beer queen, Sarah Jäger.

She won the crown in 2021 and was allowed to stay in office until today due to the cancellation of the 2022 election due to Corona.

Beer Queen candidate Anna Eberle: Born in Peißenberg, grew up in Peiting

Anna Eberle could become her successor if she gets enough votes in the online election from April 20 (www.bayerische-bierkönigin.de) and is in top form at the live final on May 25 in Munich's Löwenbräukeller.

The election is decided by online voting, by the expert jury's votes and the votes of the guests in the hall, each with a third weighting.

The possible beer queen Anna was born on December 14, 1996 in the zodiac sign of Sagittarius ("dynamic") in Peißenberg.

She grew up in Peiting, where she played soccer for TSV as a teenager until a double cruciate ligament tear ended her career as a soccer player.

Anna's mother Theda Smith-Eberle is a member of the board of TSV Peiting and works in the management of the Peiting town hall.

Papa Jakob is now a pensioner, was a postman and also worked in the Landsberg post office for many years.

Hence Anna's love for Lechstadt, where she has been living with her friend Mathias and hamster Mimi for a year: "Because I'm right here on the Autobahn to Munich!"

Because Anna Eberle is an editor and presenter at Munich's private radio station "Gong 96.3".

There she is "on the air" in the afternoon, also operates the receiver telephone, plays the weather fairy and occasionally assists Germany's most famous "morningman" Mike Thiel.

Beer Queen has to take on representational tasks at home and abroad

Anna learned the radio trade from scratch at Radio Oberland in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Before that, she completed her bachelor's degree in English and German at the University of Augsburg, followed by a semester abroad at the "University School on English Literature and Language" in Newscastle, UK.

Anna Eberle is being prepared for her possible office until the all-important final on May 25th in Munich.

Together with the other finalists, a training course in the Bavarian Brewery Museum in Kulmbach, combined with a professional media seminar, is on the agenda.

Because the tasks of the future beer queen include representation tasks at home and abroad, which are always accompanied by press, radio and television teams.

Between work and volunteer work, Eberle would always come back to Peiting because she actively plays tennis at the local tennis club.

Should Anna Eberle receive the title, there will be generous gifts such as various dirndls, a golden iPhone, an Audi A4 as a "company car" during the term of office, a fuel voucher worth 2000 euros, a feel-good holiday for two in a top hotel and of course a for a highness appropriate pocket money.
