All Bavarians who are already feeling spring fever can get their winter gear out of the basement again from Monday.
A real snowstorm awaits us.
Munich – In the forest and on the meadows the first cowslips and wood anemones are springing up, the first deciduous trees are showing a delicate green in the branches and the cherry blossom is about to start.
First temperature records.
In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Upper Bavaria, the 20-degree mark was even cracked on Saturday (March 18), according to the German Weather Service (DWD).
In Regensburg on the Danube, more than 18 degrees were measured on Tuesday (March 21).
Mild temperatures, lots of sunshine, in short: Spring is arriving in Bavaria.
But he soon pulls back hard.

Already on Friday (March 24th) the weather will be more uncomfortable.
The mild air that has been blowing in reliably from the south-west over the past few days is abating.
Lots of rain and cooler air coming with a low from the north.
Cool, humid air meets mild Bavarian weather, which means the risk of thunderstorms is increasing.
Especially at the edge of the Alps in Upper Bavaria, but also in Lower Bavaria, it can thunder and lightning.
Bavaria weather: The weekend is stormy and it's getting colder
The weekend starts with thunderstorms, lots of rain and squalls and the temperatures drop rapidly.
There could still be 19 degrees on Fridays in Lower Bavaria.
Saturday and Sunday the maximum values in many places in Bavaria only reach 9 degrees.
The frost will come on Monday night.

Bavaria is facing a wild snowstorm down to the lowlands
The DWD predicts up to minus two degrees with further precipitation.
The snow line falls to 800 meters on Monday night.
A stormy westerly wind is blowing.
The DWD warns of snow drifts.
The snowstorm lasts until the morning hours, possibly even during the day in the Alps.
Slippery roads with snowdrifts may threaten as far as Munich on Monday.
That could lead to special traffic problems on the streets because many Bavarians have to switch to cars because of the mega strike on Monday.

The snow line is expected to fall even lower over the course of the week
During the day, temperatures will rise above freezing again, but according to the current DWD forecast, it will get colder again on Monday night and snow again for a long time.
As the week progresses, the snow line may even fall below 600 meters.
Instead of white cherry blossoms in beer garden weather, white landscapes await us in many places in Bavaria.
All this in an icy cold storm.
And: The trend does not promise a new beginning of spring in the distant future, at least according to the current weather models.
