It is an important document.
The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) published a report this week summarizing its work over the past eight years.
The observation on global warming has not changed, it is still just as alarmist.
But the text is not limited to the usual warnings against the climate time bomb, it is also intended to be
"a practical guide to defusing it".
Rather than making the governments in place feel guilty for their inaction, the IPCC affirms that we have now have the knowledge, tools and capital needed to mitigate global warming through quick decisions: it is still possible to contain global warming within the limits of 1.5°C.
In short, we are moving away from the traditional apocalyptic discourse
on the climate which only feeds fear of the future and provokes infantile initiatives, such as sit-ins to paralyze peripherals or the depredations of works of art.
