Who is who in the small G7 of political friends that María Eugenia Vidal invited to her wedding with Enrique Sacco

A small group of PRO leaders will go this Saturday to the wedding of the former Buenos Aires governor in San Antonio de Areco.

Far from the great lights of other massive events,

the wedding of María Eugenia Vidal and Enrique Sacco

, this Saturday at the El Rosario de Areco ranch, will be very austere, with just over 100 guests and a family atmosphere, in which they will also be including the couple's closest friends.

At the beginning of the electoral year, only seven political leaders will arrive at San Antonio de Areco at 5:30 p.m., all close to Vidal and flagged within the same space, the PRO.

As Clarín

, the members of the select group will be Mauricio Macri, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, Cristian Ritondo, Emmanuel Ferrario, Darío Nieto, Federico Salvai and Carolina Stanley.

On the other hand, the president of the PRO, Patricia Bullrich, noted in the presidential race as Vidal and Larreta, and awaiting a definition from the former president of the Nation himself, is not invited.

Although they respect each other, they do not cultivate a friendly relationship between the two.

Neither will Elisa Carrió, the other leading woman from Together for Change, from the Civic Coalition.

The batch of invitations that Vidal extended to his seven fellow party members can be explained from the relationship of affinity and closeness that he forged with them over the years.

He considers Macri his political mentor

, since he joined the PRO -then Compromiso por el Cambio- in 2002. Vidal had not yet turned 30 and found in the former president someone who gave him the opportunity to grow within the space, first as a Buenos Aires legislator but later as Minister of Social Development of the City.

Cristian Ritondo, with Maria Eugenia Vidal.

He will be invited this Saturday.

The definitive leap occurred in 2011, when Macri chose her as his running mate and ultimately ended up being his deputy head of government until 2015, after being a candidate for governor of the province of Buenos Aires, a position in which she was elected.

Logically, Juliana Awada, the wife of the former president, is also invited to the wedding.

He has known Horacio Rodríguez Larreta since

before, in times when they were both part of the

Sophia Group

led in the late 1990s by the now mayor of Buenos Aires.

"I've known her for 25 years, we've been friends ever since, although she doesn't really like that she says it because she says that she denotes her age," Rodríguez Larreta usually recounts, drawing that tune.

Currently, both are launched in the race to the presidency and have Macri's endorsement in pursuit of it.

When Larreta was asked if Vidal would be a good candidate to succeed him in the City, it was clear: "She decides. Today she decided the path to travel the country, to settle and eventually go for the presidential candidacy. For many years she has María Eugenia's own entity, is one of the most important politicians in the country".

Larreta will be accompanied by

Milagros Maylin

, his partner, who

was an official of Vidal

during his time in the governor's office, between 2016 and 2019, where he held the position of provincial director of Management Coordination and later was undersecretary of Social and Urban Integration.

Emmanuel Ferrario is another leader who has a friendly relationship with Vidal.

A close friend of Maylin and Vidal will also be present at Areco.

It will be

Emmanuel Ferrario

, current head of the Legislature and noted until Friday in the race to succeed Horacio Rodríguez Larreta as head of government.

In the afternoon, however, he announced that he was dropping his candidacy.

Ferrario, 37, coincided with both working in the Province, in his case from January 2017 to December 2019, as Undersecretary for Management Coordination.

His appointment as the first candidate for legislator in 2021, by the City, had the direct support of Vidal, who led that list as a candidate for national deputy, a position that she currently holds.

Like Larreta and Maylin, there will be another couple of PRO leaders who will attend the wedding of Sacco and Vidal.

They are

Carolina Stanley and Federico Salvai

, who have already confirmed their presence in Areco's country estate.

The former Minister of Social Development maintains a long-standing relationship with Vidal, but it is her husband who was a key official throughout his government in the province of Buenos Aires, as chief of staff.

Another former Vidalista cabinet official who will be present is

Cristian Ritondo

, former Minister of Security and a friend of the former governor for many years.

She is currently the main promoter of him to prop him up as a candidate for the Buenos Aires governorship, also with the support of Mauricio Macri, but without the blessing of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, who supports the candidacy of Diego Santilli.

The seventh guest at Vidal's wedding is someone he has known for a long time, but who has become his main campaign adviser in the last two months: it is Darío Nieto, a Buenos Aires legislator

Mauricio Macri's right-hand man, who He "cede" it while the deputy's presidential project lasts.

Nieto, a member of the toughest wing of the PRO, will also be present.

The ceremony in San Antonio de Areco will begin around 6:00 p.m., but the guests are scheduled half an hour before.

After the civil marriage on Thursday, a justice of the peace will formalize the marriage between Sacco and Vidal, who will be accompanied by their children and closest relatives.

Darío Nieto, together with María Eugenia Vidal, on a tour together.

The legislator will be in Areco.
