Snow and a cold more in line with the season are announced between this last weekend of March and Tuesday on the French peaks.
A winter parenthesis which will perhaps make it possible to maintain the opening dates of the ski lifts announced or hoped for in the high altitude resorts, while the spring holidays 2023 are looming. In the meantime, and while some resorts have closed earlier than expected a rather encouraging winter sports season in terms of tourism (Luz Ardiden and the resorts of Vercors, in Isère, on March 19, Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 on March 24, etc.) skiers can plan spring laps in areas opened in April.
In the Pyrenees, it is as usual the resort of Cauterets which will close the ski season on April 23.
In the Alps, Val Thorens welcomes sliders until May 8, while its neighbors Tignes and Val d'Isère extend the winter festivities for a week until May 6.
The Savoyard spots have benefited from a return from the east, which at this stage allows us to deviate from the traditional closing date of May 1st.
