New chapter: Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth announce their divorce after eleven years of marriage

The American actress shared the news through a text published on her social networks. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth, who were preparing to celebrate their twelve years of marriage at the end of March, have decided to divorce.

"We have some personal news to share with you...", confided Reese Witherspoon to her approximately thirty million subscribers on Instagram.

This Saturday, March 25, the 47-year-old actress announced her separation from Jim Toth, her husband for more than 11 years: “It is with great care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.

We have had wonderful years together and move forward with much love, kindness and mutual respect for all that we have created together,” she shared.

“The priority is our son”

The couple is approaching this “new chapter” with a lot of maturity and is focusing on the well-being of their son.

“These questions are never easy and are extremely personal.

We really appreciate everyone's respect for our family's privacy at this time," reads the text signed "Reese and Jim."

Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth were married in March 2011, in California, before welcoming their son, Tennessee, in September 2012. The actress, previously married to actor Ryan Philippe, already had two children: Ava (23) and Deacon (19), born of this previous marriage.
