Stopover in Copenhagen, world capital of architecture 2023

This year, the Danish metropolis becomes the world capital of architecture. A distinction from Unesco which is the ideal opportunity to take the measure of the urban development of this nugget of northern Europe.


Copenhagen, the city where it is “best” to live in the world, the capital of the happiest people… we readily affirm here.

What if attention to architecture and town planning had a lot to do with it?

As early as 2002, this city of 600,000 inhabitants made known its commitment to aim for carbon neutrality by 2025, by granting 26 billion euros of investment.

A few months ago, the authorities finally postponed the deadline, but this virtuous voluntarism is felt at all levels, starting in the daily movements of city dwellers.

Half of the journeys here are made by bicycle thanks to a network of 350 km of trails, some of which have been the subject of unprecedented architectural infrastructures.
