The hips of Vincent Niclo, the sequins of Sheila, the annoyance of Chimène Badi... Behind the scenes of the Sidaction evening of France 2

For the 30th edition of Sidaction, la Deux has decided to associate the cause with the 50th anniversary of Disco by inviting a series of artists to the stage of the Dôme de Paris. All under the leadership of Julia Vignali and Vincent Niclo.

For this thirtieth edition of the Sidaction weekend, La Deux has decided to make the

fight against AIDS

rhyme with good humor and dancing.

This Saturday, March 25 from 9:10 p.m., an evening event broadcast on France 2 takes place where French personalities sing for Sidaction while celebrating

the 50th anniversary of Disco

.

Le Figaro

takes you behind the scenes of the filming of this show.

On the menu, rhinestones and sequins are de rigueur.

The public is present in the hall of the Dôme de Paris, where Julia Vignali and Vincent Niclo are gathered on stage.

The two animators say they are particularly proud to have been chosen for this event.

“I often answered as a singer but there to animate with Julia, it is great.

We don't get along well at all

,” quips Vincent Niclo sporting a three-piece suit, flared trousers and a bow tie around his neck.

“Already, I find him super handsome […] I was happy to be married to Vincent.

And beyond that, it's above all a good cause, a national cause and I like my job to be used for something

, ”adds Julia Vignali.

“We come a long way anyway, we come back from

Clémentine Célarié

who kissed an HIV-positive person on the mouth because we thought we could catch him by touching or kissing.

So there is still a lot of work that has been done but there is still a lot to do.

Even if we are at the dawn of one day having a planet without AIDS, we must remain mobilized”

, insists the lyrical singer.

Mobilizing is what we do for dozens and dozens of artists.

From Sheila to Bilal Hassani via the group Hyphen Hypen, M. Pokora, Isabelle Boulay, Jenifer, Amanda Lear, Véronic Dicaire, Chimène Badi, Ottawan, The Weather Girls, Patrick Hernandez, The Gibson Brothers and many others.. The fight against AIDS brings together personalities from all walks of life.

"I'm definitely not going to run away"

Alongside the president Line Renaud, Jean-Paul Gaultier appears, and this since 2020, as the ambassador of Sidaction.

Due to his personal story - the designer lost his partner in 1990 to the disease - he is all the more affected and concerned by this virus which has been raging since the 80s. "

Sidaction particularly affects me because I am from the generation who knew Sidaction from the start.

The first wave fell on my friend, Francis, who was my companion

,” he confided to “50' Inside”.

Present behind the scenes of the show, always keeping an eye on the control screens, the 70-year-old man chats with singer Bilal Hassani and compliments him before he goes on stage to perform

Monday Tuesday... Let me dance

by Dalida.

For the 23-year-old singer-songwriter too, this evening is very important.

“For me, this is the fifth year at Sidaction and it's very important because it's a cause that I support every day.

[...]

What I try to bring is visibility towards a somewhat younger public who are often not sufficiently informed about the questions surrounding AIDS and HIV.

And then there are beautiful artistic moments and lights that help to convey messages

, ”promotes Bilal Hassani wearing her candy pink dress and her bright orange thigh-high boots.

Beyond prevention, the artists are also present to participate in the deconstruction of stereotypes linked to the disease.

“They can get on my nerves quickly [...] I'm not judgmental and if someone is sick with AIDS, I'm definitely not going to run away.

All the people affected by this fucking disease - excuse me to say it - should not hesitate to say it and to assume it

, affirms Chimène Badi.

“We are here to inform, because a lot of information is missing.

There are still many mistakes being made.

We are there to entertain as obviously and raise money because it is the sinews of war

, ”recalls Vincent Niclo.

From slippers to pointed ankle boots

Before the start of the recording of the evening, a photocall is improvised on one of the walls behind the scenes.

If we see the personalities all dressed up and all smiles, some remain comfortable until the last minute... The co-host of the evening, who we will see later perched on stilettos, poses in front of the lens in slippers.

Everyone can be reassured, his “pilou pilou” effect mules will not appear on the pictures.

Once the photo session is over, Vincent Niclo indulges in a few dance steps, in the joy and good humor that characterizes him.

And he doesn't wear just any pair of shoes either: ankle boots with heels and pointed toes.

All the codes of the 70s are present: sequins, bell bottoms and platform shoes.

But then, why associate the fight against AIDS and 50 years of disco?

“These are very important causes but we want to have evenings where there is hope and joy.

It's the fiftieth anniversary of disco and it seemed obvious to us to put joy into this cause to precisely boost people and tell them that it is with joy that we will come out of this fight, "defends Alexandra Redaniel

, director of entertainment at France Télévisions.

“Tonight, everyone must be in front of their TV, everyone must dance and everyone must say to themselves that if we all come together and mobilize, we can change the world.

And I find that music has this sense of togetherness.”

This year, the Sidaction weekend takes place over three days - Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March - dedicated to mobilization and awareness of the AIDS virus.
