Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Galant this evening (Sunday), Netanyahu's office announced.
The move was made after Gallant publicly called last night to stop the legislation as part of the legal revolution.
Netanyahu has not responded with his voice so far to Gallant's statement.
In his first public statement last night, Gallant expressed his opposition to the continuation of the legislation, saying that "a change is needed in the judicial system - the fabric of relations between the authorities requires correction, and yet, significant and national changes are being made in negotiations and discourse."
He called for dialogue between the camps and warned of the wave of refusals to serve in the reserves.
"I said this in closed conversations in recent weeks, at this time we must stop the process in order to sit down and talk. Now I say it out loud, for the sake of Israel's security - we need to stop the legislative process at this time, allow the people of Israel to celebrate Passover, Independence Day and mourn together on Memorial Day . To stop the demonstrations immediately and to stop any forms of refusal. For our security, this is our duty."
He was dismissed from his position as Minister of Defense.

Gallant's call was met with mixed reactions.
While Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid and State Camp Chairman Benny Gantz congratulated him on his words, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called for Petro: "We entered the Ministry of Defense with the voices of the right but yielded to the pressure of those who threatened to refuse and try to put a stop to the important reform," he said Ben Gvir
"He also manages in practice a policy of 'containment' and lack of reaction in Gaza and the Yosh, and in this policy he turns his back on the right-wing voters."
