Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Galant this evening, Netanyahu's office announced.
The move was made after Gallant publicly called last night to stop the legislation as part of the legal revolution.
So far, Netanyahu has not responded with his voice to Gallant's statement, who responded to his dismissal on Twitter, and wrote: "The security of the State of Israel has always been and will always remain my life's mission."
Following the move, spontaneous demonstrations broke out in front of the Kirya in Tel Aviv and in front of the Prime Minister's House in Jerusalem.
