Drug violence in Rosario: since the reinforcement of the federal forces, there were 10 crimes in 19 days


Carlos Nicolás Moreira (42) received a shot to the head and four to the chest in the south of Rosario.

After almost a week without registered crimes in the Rosario department, this Sunday the death of a 42-year-old man in the southern part of the city was confirmed.

As reported by the provincial Justice, he received

five bullets at dawn

, although no indication of the mechanics of the attack was revealed.

In this way, there are 10 homicides registered since the federal reinforcements arrived, on Wednesday, March 8, after the crime of Máximo Jerez (12).

The murder of

Carlos Nicolás Moreira

occurred around 3 in the morning in the Tablada neighborhood.

Based on a complaint through 911, the Police found his body near a house located on Biedma at 200.

They investigate whether the murdered man fired to defend himself against the attack.

Spokesmen for the Public Prosecution Ministry (MPA) specified that the victim had already died when the doctors arrived at the crime scene.

The preliminary report indicates that

he was shot in the face and at least four times in the chest


During the operation in the vicinity of the Cordón Ayacucho, the investigators found

four pods filled with 9-millimeter caliber projectiles


Prosecutor Carla Cerliani ordered the expert examination of the evidence together with the autopsy of the corpse at the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Rosario.

In parallel with these measures, the judicial official requested a dermotest.

The examination aims to

determine if the victim used firearms

before her death.

On the other hand, the MPA awaited the result of a

survey of public and private security cameras

in the neighborhood.

In the first instance, the Justice could not identify any suspect, they did not even confirm how Moreira was murdered in the corridor of Biedma street.

The episode investigated by prosecutor Cerliani is the

fourth crime recorded in Tablada

since the beginning of the year.

77 homicides have already been confirmed in the Rosario department

The latest report from the Santa Fe Public Security Observatory (OSP) confirms that

most of the events are connected to drug trafficking

or other illegal businesses.

In the first two months, 70.2% of the investigations refer to murders linked to the illegal economy or criminal organizations.

In this context, the national government announced that

in a week they arrested 63 people linked to the sale of drugs


The list includes Daniel Godoy and Leonardo Saravia as leaders of different organizations of the Great Rosario.

The latter, nicknamed "Leo Rey", was charged as the drug supplier of the Los Monos cells in the southwest of the city.

The increase in anti-drug operations was added to the arrival of 400 members of the federal forces to have 1,400 agents operating in the city.

Since the landing on March 8, at least 10 homicides have been reported

throughout the Rosario department.
