His abandoned car on the
Rosario-Victoria bridge
was the only clue that investigators had about the whereabouts of
Alexis Olivera,
a 28-year-old who had disappeared 10 days ago and who had not been heard from again until this Sunday. , when he was
found lifeless in the Paraná River.
This is a man from Rosario who on March 7 alerted his entire family environment when he sent a
farewell message
to his ex-partner and mother of his son.
After doing so, Olivera
turned off his cell phone
, grabbed his vehicle and left, without giving details of where he was going.
By the time the woman notified her relatives of the strange text she had received, it was already too late.
Alexis Olivera was found lifeless in the Paraná River.
His relatives immediately began looking for him in the areas to which he believed he might have gone, but after tracking him for a while without any indication of his location, they filed a complaint about the fact.
Consequently, police agents began a search operation by land that for more than 48 hours did not have any positive response.
They searched the security and traffic camera images, but he did not appear on any video.
Change of direction in the investigation
Everything changed three days later, on Friday, March 10, when the investigation turned around with the discovery of his
car parked on the Rosario-Victoria bridge
.
Then all the possible hypotheses were reduced to one main one.
Based on the fact that it could have been a suicide, the police notified the Naval Prefecture of Entre Ríos, which continued to search for the man along the river.
At first, without a sign of hope for the family, since they had no results.
The Rosario-Victoria bridge where the young man left his car parked.
However, after several days of uncertainty, the agents finally
found a body in the Paraná River
, near the Buenos Aires city of San Nicolás, which matched some of the physical characteristics of the young man from Rosario.
The body was found at kilometer 350 and the news quickly spread in the area, where it began to be said that it could be Alexis Olivera.
The information upset the young man's family, who had to wait until Monday to recognize him since the remains remained in a private morgue closed over the weekend because there was no space for them in the public sector.
According to the Rosario3 newspaper, the relatives managed to get them to advance the opening of the place to reduce the uncertainty and thus they were able
to identify the body
.
This presents an advanced state of decomposition after 17 days and, according to the first data,
it would not have signs of violence
.
Finally, his family recognized him and stated that it is about him from tattoos and other characteristic signs.
Although the causes of his death have not yet been determined - one must wait for the next few hours to find out the result of the autopsy - Olivera's environment rules out the participation of other people or a case of violence.
