In the event of dissolution, the RN would be on the rise and the majority sanctioned

According to an Ifop poll for the Sunday newspaper, the presidential majority would lose nearly five points compared to June, and would therefore be behind the RN and Nupes.

To get out of the top of the crisis that is taking hold, Emmanuel Macron has made it known that he refuses to dissolve the National Assembly.

And for good reason: according to an Ifop / Fiducial poll for the

Sunday newspaper

, the head of state would not be assured of having a majority in the event of new legislative elections.

He would therefore take the risk of cohabitation.

If the first round of voting took place next Sunday, it would indeed be the National Rally that would emerge as the big winner, winning 26% of the vote, a jump of seven points compared to June 2022 (19.2%).

The RN winning the social battle?

The Nupes coalition would be on an equal footing, also winning 26%, but would stagnate compared to the last legislative elections (26.3%).

The left alliance, whose pivotal force is La France Insoumise, has however strongly mobilized against the pension reform, supporting in particular social mobilization in the street, unlike the RN.

Despite this, it is Marine Le Pen's party which achieves its best scores

"in the categories most hostile to reform, even if it has not been in the social movement"

, underlines Frédéric Dabi, director general of Ifop.

The macronists would come in third place, with 22%, a drop of almost five points compared to June (26.9%).

In the event of dissolution, it would then be necessary to observe whether, in the second round, the candidates of the “presidential majority” would benefit from an “anti-RN” or “anti-Nupes” front which would allow them to save seats.

Or not.
