Bezalel Smotrich in Paris: "There is no such thing with a Palestinian, this is the truth that needs to be heard in the White House" (from Twitter)
The foreign ministers of the Gulf countries - Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar - sent a letter today (Sunday) to the American Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, in which they condemned the words of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich against the Palestinian people.
"We call on the Biden administration to respond to the Israeli government's actions and statements against the Palestinian people," they wrote to Blinken.
Last week, Smotrich said during his visit to Paris that "there is no such thing as a Palestinian people".
The minister also claimed: "Who was the first Palestinian king? What language do the Palestinians have? Was there ever a kingdom of Palestine? Is there a Palestinian history or culture?".
He said these things in a speech he gave at a tribute event in memory of Likud activist Jacques Kupfer, who was a member of the Beitar movement and a member of the World Zionist Organization, and who died of cancer about two years ago.

"My grandfather, who was 13th generation in Jerusalem, is the real Palestinian," claimed Smotrich, speaking with a map of the entire Land of Israel at his side.
"My grandmother, who was born in Metula more than a century ago to a family of pioneers, is Palestinian."
According to him, the Palestinian people is "an invention less than a century old".
"The White House and the Elysee Palace need to hear the truth," he added.
The Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Ashtea, attacked Smotrich's statements and said that they "express arrogance, and arrogance will not undermine our belonging to our land and our history."
He added that "we learned from history that the occupation will come to an end."
A day later, anger arose in Jordan, following the appearance of the Minister of Finance next to a flag on which Jordan is included within Israel.
A spokesman for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry stated that "this is incitement and a violation of the peace agreement between Israel and Jordan", and summoned the Israeli ambassador to Rabat Ammon for a reprimand.
Following the condemnation, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a reassuring message stating that "there has been no change in the position of the State of Israel, which recognizes the territorial integrity of the Hashemite Kingdom."
