Erich Multerer is the new marksman of the Hubertusschützen Goldach.

He and his dedicated team arrived just in time to prevent the club from being dissolved.

Goldach

– Relief spread on Thursday evening in the adjoining room of the Neuwirt in Goldach after club officer Thomas Henning had carried out the new elections for the Hubertus riflemen in Goldach and was able to congratulate the new rifle champion Erich Multerer.

When the invitation to the annual general meeting was sent out in February, his predecessor Gerd Schünemann pointed out that if a new board was not found, the association would probably have to be dissolved.

"It's nice that the club, which is in good financial shape and has many supporters, will continue to exist," said Henning.

The search for a club leadership was crowned with success.

Schünemann, born in 1940, was elected first rifle champion at the last annual general meeting on June 21, 2019 and had recently taken on many other tasks in the club, guiding the Hubertusschützen, founded in 1906, through the difficult Corona period.

At first, the operations of the Hubertusschützen ran in the usual way with the popular events such as shooting at the beginning, shooting at Kirtan noodles, shooting at the king, shooting at St. Nicholas, shooting at carnival, "You and me" shooting, shooting at Easter eggs and final shooting, as Schünemann looked back.

The club only really came to life again in autumn 2022

But from 2021 these social gatherings had to be cancelled.

The risk of infection and illness was far too great for the Goldacher Schützen, whose 134 members are mostly 60 years and older.

"For me as an 82-year-old marksman, who was one of the most vulnerable group of people myself, it was important to protect the members, so the safest thing was to cancel events." Shooting was still possible because every second shooting range had been switched off , but the club only really came to life again in autumn 2022.

Keeping the association alive “was the responsibility of the members and founders”

In September they started with the initial shooting, they took part in the 100th anniversary of Gau Erding on October 15th and in December the Christmas party was held with a royal proclamation and a raffle.

But it was also necessary to hold an annual general meeting, including new elections.

In order to avoid the impending end of the association, they sat down, discussed, sought personal talks and managed to put together a new management team.

"We owed that to our members and our club founders, because the Hubertusschützen belong to Goldach," says the new sports director Andi Dobmeier, who himself had campaigned for the assumption of offices when shopping.

Erich Multerer, the new first rifle champion, who was elected unanimously by the 20 members present, as was the rest of the board, was relieved.

"The next three years are secured and the new team will support each other," says Multerer.

With Edgar Pröpster as his representative, he has the former rifle champion of the SG Edelweiß at his side.

The two secretaries, Angelika Paluch and Joachim Paluch, also have a lot of experience.

Schünemann will continue to support the club as treasurer and has Irene Evering at his side.

Susi Kranzfelder was elected youth leader, and long-time treasurer Robert Kronner, also born in 1940 like Schünemann, and Georg Frombeck are available as cash auditors.

Helmut Beer will act as the flag bearer, Gerd Schünemann as his companion.

In his new function, Erich Multerer finally referred to upcoming dates such as the Easter egg shooting on April 6th, the flag ceremony of the Hallbergmoos fire brigade on April 16th, the final shooting on April 20th and the folk festival procession on May 10th.
