Geretsried – Six months before the state elections, the Geretsried comrades want to present themselves even more to the public.

At the general meeting in the TuS clubhouse, secretary Bernhard Lorenz suggested the publication of a party newspaper in order to “well-founded” convey social democratic concerns to citizens.

The role model is “Der Rote Schmied” by the Kochler SPD.

District chairman Klaus Barthel distributed the current issue, which featured a wide variety of topics with statements on the Walchensee power plant, municipal budget and education policy: "It was very well received."

Geretsried recorded the lowest voter turnout of all district municipalities.

Although the SPD local association had invited to city talks with explosive topics such as childcare shortages and transport infrastructure in the past twelve months, the "suffering pressure" of the Geretsrieders was apparently not great enough in the opinion of the local chairman Martin Bruckner, according to the former member of the Bundestag.

Barthel said the number of members, currently 55, was stable.

Nevertheless, more votes are needed for the SPD in order to be able to appear even more confidently after the local elections in 2026, for example in the city council.

Committee member Hans Hopfner deliberately kept his report on the projects realized in 2022 short.

"There was an incredible number of development plans that I don't want to explain in detail here," explained the city council.

With regard to the planned construction of a day-care center on Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße, which will probably cost around ten million euros, and the increase in the midday care building at the Karl-Lederer elementary school, the SPD is in agreement with the other city council factions.

Hopfner: "We can't get by there, the demand is increasing from year to year."

SPD district chairman Klaus Barthel: "We want to shape politics in Bavaria."

Barthel, on the other hand, thinks even bigger: "We want to shape politics in Bavaria." Above all, Kochler would like to see better technical equipment in smaller hospitals such as the Wolfratshauser district clinic and a change in procurement law for construction contracts.

"Not the cheapest provider that pays its workers low wages should get orders," he demanded.

At the end of the meeting, the 13 members who appeared relieved the local chairman Martin Bruckner and elected Uschi Hopfner as the new cash auditor.

She will hold this position together with Margit Berendsen.

Martin Bruckner, Bernhard Lorenz, Hans and Uschi Hopfner as well as Gisela Pfnür-Reichelt and Christian Beischl were appointed delegates for the 2024 European elections.
