Berlin – Since April 2022, “Do you understand fun?” has been firmly in the hands of star presenter Barbara Schöneberger (49), with whom you want to let the cult entertainment show (has been around since 1980) shine in its old glory.

But the days of getting top ratings with six to seven million TV viewers are over.

On Saturday evening (March 25) the first broadcaster had to admit defeat to the sister station ZDF, which showed the test match of the German national soccer team.

But the television program that ran parallel to the live broadcast was also impressive, including “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (RTL), “30 Years of Nonsense Comedy Club – Legends of Nonsense” (ProSieben) and the DFB test match against Peru (ZDF).

4.32 million viewers (market share: 17.9 percent) tuned in for the half-hour pre-reporting of the game, which only started at 8:45 p.m. - a value that Barbara Schöneberger and "Do you understand fun?" Didn't come close in the evening.

The cult show has recently experienced strong fluctuations in ratings: while the October 2022 edition achieved a decent value with 3.93 million viewers, the absolute low in the June 2022 edition was recorded with an audience of just 2.29 million fans history of the broadcast.

It remains to be seen whether the 49-year-old moderator can get "Do you understand fun?" back on the road to success.

In the show itself, she caused quite a stir: Barbara Schöneberger and the "Do you understand fun?" team did it so colorfully that "Notruf Hafen Kante" darling Rhea Harder cried.
