"The technical and environmental regulations have changed since then," says Autobahn GmbH spokeswoman Katharina Holzapfel.
In some cases, the conversion and new construction of the supply lines would interfere with the roadway.
That's for motorists to see.
In many areas there have been no drainage basins so far.
This is now necessary at all locations where the water cannot seep across the road embankments and drainage troughs - including at two points at the Wolfratshausen entrance and exit.
Drainage tanks are used to clean street water.
They hold back water-polluting substances and protect the bodies of water into which the water is discharged.
Costs amount to around 700,000 euros
The two basins currently being built are located in the east loop of the Wolfratshausen junction and on the west side of the A95 at the level of the drying plant.
Both pools are around 38 meters long and 27 and 9 meters wide, respectively.
According to Holzapfel, the costs vary depending on the requirements and the type of construction: "The drainage basin on the east loop is being built as a simple settling basin." From there, the water can be channeled into the Loisach.
The costs for this amount to around 700,000 euros.
The second pool is more expensive: "Due to the limited space available" it had to be made of concrete, says Holzapfel.
In addition, a retention ground filter system is required - a separation system for rainwater and overflowing mixed water with a greater cleaning effect.
Costs of around 1.5 million euros are estimated.
Both pools would have a durability of more than 100 years.
Start of construction has been postponed
According to the company spokeswoman, there are currently no delivery problems due to the consequences of the pandemic and the Ukraine war.
However, the start of construction of the measure has been postponed so far "that the pools can only be completed this year".
Because of the associated staff and material bottlenecks, the construction companies are still partially behind with the processing of old orders.
