This year, the bookmakers betting on Rolex novelties will have been both wrong and right: yes, the most famous of watchmaking houses was not going to miss the anniversary of one of its flagship models, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, which is celebrating its 60th birthday.
But there is no question of being satisfied with that.
For the occasion, the one nicknamed the Daytona is seen, as always with the brand with the crown, subtly redesigned, with an even more elegant Oyster case.
A new graphic balance
On the design side, its dial presents a new graphic balance, between resized indexes and redesigned counter rings.
Its automatic chronograph movement incorporates all of Rolex's major innovations of recent years: oscillator, with an enlarged balance wheel, equipped with a micrometric adjustment system, Chronergy escapement, to reduce, among other things, energy loss, Paraflex shock absorbers for preserving the heart of the movement, and optimized ball bearings...
